I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter…… just like so many of you. I wear many hats and I have many interests. I decided to share some of them together on one website, because that IS Me! Hope you’ll join me for the journey, as I have a lot of fun coming up! I invite you to join me in the things that interest you, and just skip the topics you don’t care about. It’s up to you! Oh, the beauty of the internet — it won’t even hurt my feelings!
I married young and decided to stay home to raise my family, and along the way did a variety of things to contribute a little income. I am a life-long learner and have enjoyed adding new skills that often resulted in different kinds of work. Primarily, I have done a lot of administrative related work which many times included some kind of design work to create newsletters, fliers, postcards, etc. I always enjoy that type of work, because it allowed me to be creative!
I have loved arts and crafts for as long as I can remember! I had art pieces from school go to county showings and my little miniature paintings I did still hang at my Mom’s home, and some resurface periodically at my house, they just don’t go with my decor as they did back in the ’70′s. Throughout the years, I began to put arts and crafts on the back burner.
Many years as a Mary Kay beauty consultant somewhat satisfied my need and longing to play with color. Yet, after being “introduced” to scrapbooking when my daughter did a stint as a CM consultant a number of years ago, it was as if I’d been given back some way of using some creativity and feeling like I wasn’t wasting time or money on a craft or hobby. After all, it was for the the family — preserving precious memories. How could I feel guilty spending time or money on that! Okay, I’ll admit, I think I ended up with more pages that were like art than ended up as finished scrapbook pages!
Next I was introduced to card making! I was in love with yet another kind of tiny art project. There were so many things you could do on a card!
I found myself participating in several online workshops and was reminded how mixed media art could use up a whole lot of my scrapbooking/crafting stash! I felt like I had come back to life! Something I had missed for so long, was set free! I hope to share some projects with you and see what you have to share as well!
